Apia, Samoa

Arrived in Samoa (officially called the Independent State of Samoa) late in the evening. Currency exchange: 1 US Dollar=2.20 Somoan Tala (WST) Falopa is hello in Samoa. We were greeted with Leis at the airport. At the hotel, we were welcomed at the entry gate by a Manu Sica Tau (war dance) male dance group. One of the War Dancers ran in front us our bus carrying a burning torch escorting us to the lodge entry. This is a beautiful, lush island with Palm trees, banana, plants and mango groves. Such a drastically change from the vistas on Easter Island.
