Marrakech, Morocco
Awakened this morning at 5:45am by the echoes of the “adhan” permeating throughout the city. It is dark across the horizon and silent other than the call to worship emanating from the Mosque. The morning skies were clear and vibrant as the sun rose this morning. A bit later, as we leave breakfast, a dense fog has settled across the city obscuring the view of everything in the near distance. Very ethereal looking. We leave our hotel for the trip back to the airport at 8:15am. The foggy mist has cleared and it’s another beautiful day in Marrakesh. Arrived back on Big Blue to find that our flight crew has decorated the plane for Valentine’s Day with red heart balloons and ballotins of red, white and pink Taj Mahal themed M & M’s at our seats. So sweet! Our flight crew is awesome! We will make a tech stop at Terceira, Azores on our flight back to Orlando today. This is our longest flight leg on Big Blue, 10.5 hours. Getting back into Orlando around 4pm. We opted to stay overnight at the Orlando Hyatt at the Airport to rest up before driving back to Atlanta Sunday morning. It will be nice to share one more dinner and breakfast with the NG group before we depart and go our separate ways Sunday morning. Captains Statistics: 263 and a half tons of fuel used during our flights 480 miles/ hr average speed 29,500 miles traveled
