We arrived at Heathrow Airport at 11:10am. Delta gave us “fast passes” for customs which cut down our time spent in the customs line considerably. After clearing customs, our limo driver from Tristar Worldwide Chauffeur Services whisked us off to the Four Seasons Park Lane. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff are very polite and attentive to our every need. The rooms are decorated in rich warm tones and contain the latest in modern technology features. Once again, the TV inside the bathroom mirror is a feature we love.

After a power nap, we ventured down to the NG Hospitality Desk to check in and meet the welcome crew. Team Doc Emily was there and we were so happy to see each other again. She was with us on our Around the World Private Jet Tour last January. Our iPads were synched with the new lecture materials and Brian, our luggage guru, came back to our room to do our final luggage tagging and checks.

We strolled down to the Soho district for an Italian dinner at Bocca di Lupo and then across the road to the Gielgud Theater to see a play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in The NightTime. Simon Stephens did a wonderful job translating British novelist, Mark Haddon’s novel into a theatrical play. The play is staged in a versatile black box with clever use of projections to create different locations and key images….very minimalistic yet very high tech. Sion Daniel Young gave an amazing performance as Christopher and really captured the nuances of a teenager with Asperger’s Syndrome. So many of his characteristics were reminiscent of Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory.

Back to the hotel for a much needed night’s rest.

Great first day!
