Today is Friday the 13th! Yikes!!

Relaxation day in London today. Jim started his morning with a visit to the Spa for a Foot Revitaliser treatment. I lounged in bed and enjoyed a “proper” cup of English tea in a beautiful porcelain cup. Love the British and their tea rituals.

A very nice surprise this morning when Jim’s room service breakfast arrived. The hotel sent up a beautiful fruit topped cake in celebration of our 40th Wedding Anniversary. So thoughtful! That will be our snack throughout the day.

This afternoon I went to the spa for sauna and whirlpool time before enjoying an 80 minute Detoxifying Seaweed and Eucalyptus Body Wrap. Nancy, my therapist, was wonderful and my skin feels so silky, My body should be toxin free this evening!

Tonight we met our travel experts, staff, and fellow travelers during a welcome reception and dinner. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and cocktails while each staff member made a few comments pertaining to the trip. Emilie, Brian and Bob Krist joined us at our table for dinner along with an old friend of a friend, Kat Fox, who I hadn’t seen in over 20 years. It was fun reminiscing with her during dinner. Overall, I think the age of this group seems to be a little younger than the trip last year (Jim doesn’t agree). Emilie said the median age for this group is 67. There are several Asian couples on this trip.
We came back to our room and indulged in the delicious Anniversary cake. So yummy!

Spencer Wells was not able to join us as planned due to a family emergency. He is supposed to join us in Mongolia in a few days.
