Relaxation day in Santiago, Chile

Friday, February 16, 2018

We slept in and had a leisurely morning to relax.   At breakfast we met another couple who are going on the trip.  This afternoon we took a group bus tour of Santiago passing by the Plaza de Armas, the main square, and nearby Presidential Park.  We then visited the Pre-Columbian Museum.  Jim & I whipped through the museum in about 15 minutes and then plopped down in the cafe for drinks and a snack.

Hotel Pool & waterfall (icy cold!)

At 6:30pm we finally met up with the Linblad staff for drinks and appetizers and a briefing about tomorrow’s travel plans.  Jim made it a point to meet the Expedition photographer.  I made it a point to meet the Expedition doctor!  Priorities!!

Enjoying our wine

Hazy over the Andes Mountains again this evening while we’re enjoying our bottle of wine we bought at yesterday’s favorite vineyard.

We had room service for dinner so we can get to bed early and be ready for our early 4:15am wakeup call.  Ugh!
