We enjoyed a peaceful night’s rest at the Ritz in Santiago. We were exhausted from Friday’s travels from Ushuaia. So glad we added the extra night to rest up before flying home to Atlanta tonight. And it was wonderful to have internet and phone service again!

We took advantage of a little pool time to relax this afternoon. Then we took a walk out and about to enjoy the beautiful weather, 70’s and no humidity. The Ritz is located in a very nice business section of town.

We grabbed a late lunch at Estero at the Ritz. They make several versions of Pisco Sours so we indulged in a couple of those. Quite tasty!

At 5pm we departed the Ritz Carlton for the Santiago airport to catch our overnight flight back to Atlanta GA.
The Delta flight crew was like a Laurel & Hardy episode. Nothing on the plane worked right and no one could figure out how to fix it….they couldn’t get the entertainment system to work, our seats wouldn’t work right, they dropped an entire container of dishes and broke them all over the galley, etc. But, at least the plane got off the ground unlike the flight the evening before that 30 of our fellow travelers were booked on. After that flight was canceled, everyone spent several hours trying to get reconnected to get to Atlanta. Candace and Gail ended up being on our flight in the back row of the plane. They had a pretty miserable night in Santiago. So thankful we weren’t scheduled for that flight. We’re in the air, taking our sleeping pills and trying to get some sleep….if my seat ever reclines!
