We finally arrived back home in Atlanta at 3:30pm
It’s been a long and glorious journey across many Islands and Oceans. The urge to continue questing and exploring has taken us 23,270 miles on the private jet (no mile count on the charter planes we took along the way). We’ve spent 48 hours and 48 minutes on the private jet to get to our base airports. We crossed the Equator 4 times and jumped the International Date Line twice. We’ve traveled to islands, jungles and volcanoes.
Our earth is a magnificent wonder. The modern age of travel and technology have lifted not only borders but our wanderlust to travel to the wilder frontiers.
It feels as if we have made a profound connection with our planet. We hope that we have been good ambassadors for National Geographic along the way and have been meaningful explorers. It has been so much fun to connect and engage with all the people we’ve traveled with and met along the way.
It’s highly impossible that I’ll ever mange to celebrate my official birthday date of November 17th two consecutive days in a row during the rest of my lifetime. Once in a lifetime experience!
